What I needed was a simple analog monitor. Since this unit had an input for composit video, I was hopeful it would suffice. Thankfully, it filled the bill. I would have preferred that the connection were on the back, but can live with it as is. The picture is clear and sharp even if slightly cropped from the CRT mask. P.S. Some months later -- After only a couple months the picture started to lose color and sometimes would tear badly (picture distortion). Other times it would lose all color. Usually turning the power off and back on would correct it, but not always. Very disappointing.
